11. 9049 Installation and Setup Instructions Installation and Setup Step 7 Click OK The Logon screen displays see Figure 9 Logon screen on page 11 The application has been configured FIGURE 9 Logon screen Dissolution Workstation VARIANNC This software is intended for use by authorized personnel only t cm Workstation Connections There are three ways to connect your dissolution equipment to the Dissolution Workstation See the table on page 12 Each dissolution system requires at least one serial port If the system includes the injector module a second serial port is required A typical computer has two serial ports and therefore has the capacity to connect up to two dissolution systems if the injector module is not used or one system if the injector is used If your system configuration includes a VK 8020 see HPLC Detector Connection to the VK 8020 on page 14 in addition to the appropriate connection diagram Cable guides are listed with each connection diagram to aid in selecting the necessary cables for your configuration Since the software can control up to four complete dissolution systems it is often necessary to add additional serial ports to the PC controlling the instruments We recommend the use of either the Edgeport 8 8 serial DB 9 or Edgeport 416 4 USB 16 serial DB 9 Varian Inc Page 12 Installation and Setup Dissolution Workstation Installation and Setup Instructions R
