To carry out head cleaning Insert the cleaning cassette Head cleaning starts After an automatic head cleaning operation which lasts for about 3 seconds the cleaning cassette is automatically ejected Chapter 8 Maintenance and Inspection 8 1 uonoedsu pue eoueuejure g JejdeuoS WA 8 3 Moisture Condensation When the unit is suddenly moved from a cold to a warm location or used in a very humid place moisture from the air can condense on the head drum This is called moisture condensation If the tape is run in this state it can adhere to the drum To prevent such a condition from occurring the unit is provided with a moisture condensation detecting function If moisture condenses on the head drum while the unit is in use the ALARM indicator flashes and E10 0000 is displayed in the time data display area E10 0000 is displayed in the time data display area ALARM indicator If this happens the drum and capstan motors stop and the cassette is automatically ejected Then the drum starts to rotate again to dry its surface In this state the unit is not operable When the moisture has evaporated the ALARM indicator goes off and the E10 0000 message disappears If the ALARM indicator lights and E10 0000 appears immediately after powering the unit on Leave the unit powered on and wait until the ALARM indicator goes off and the error message
